Travis Kelce Partners for Fashion Benefit

Back on April 6, Chief’s tight end Travis Kelce produced his first charity event called “Walk The Walk” in association with Shadow Buddies and Operation Breakthrough.

The Charity Event

The event itself, hosted by Tom’s Town Distillery in downtown Kansas City, was a fashion show featuring local Kansas City styles and models, as well as children from Operation Breakthrough walking the runway. Proceeds from the fashion show went to both charity organizations, as well as Kelce’s non-profit, Eighty-Seven & Running. The event featured local celebrities, top-notch food and drink, a private shopping experience, and of course, excellent KC fashion.

The Man Behind the Event

Travis Kelce, originally from Ohio, played college football in Cincinnati and was drafted to the Chiefs in 2013. Since then, he has been welcome as an active member of the Kansas City community, working with several charity organizations and representing KC proudly on the field during Chief’s games. Since former Chief’s tight end Tony Gonzalez helped start the Shadow Buddies program in Kansas City, Kelce has taken up the torch and acts as the face of Shadow Buddies in Kansas City. “Walk The Walk” marks his first foray into developing a charity event.

Kelce's Upcoming Plans

Kelce is also venturing into new territory in the form of Catching Kelce, a reality show slated to premiere on October 5 on E!. The show will feature 50 women, one from each state, competing for Kelce’s affection in the form of a reality dating show, a la The Bachelor. The show was filming during the fashion benefit, and all attendees were required to sign a waiver allowing their image to be featured on the show.
