Buddy of the Month: October

Meet our Buddies of the Month for October, and as always if you don’t see a Buddy who meets your child’s needs please let us know. We are always open to suggestions!

Meet Survivor Buddy

Hi, I’m the Survivor Buddy! I’m a special Buddy for men and women with breast cancer. I come not only to comfort adults but also to educate their children, grandchildren and family members about changes which will happen to their bodies.I come with thinning hair from chemotherapy, a mastectomy scar, port and a scarf for my head while also addressing both a right and left mastectomy. A big pink ribbon is attached to my gown to support breast cancer awareness.https://shadowbuddies.org/product/survivor-buddy/

Meet Down Syndrome Buddy

Hi, I’m the Down Syndrome Buddy! Just like your child, I’m special in that I have an extra chromosome and I’m here to offer a positive opportunity to communicate to others that we’re still just like them. Healthcare professionals use me to dispel misconceptions about Down Syndrome and instill confidence through education and medical play therapy. With my sweet smile and huggable softness, I’m great for your child to have and to hold.

The Down Syndrome Buddy arrives with characteristic facial features and a cool Shadow Buddy t-shirt.
